In the early stages of your real estate career, it's common to feel overwhelmed by the abundance of information, classes, and tasks. Much like the homes that we sell, it’s important to build our new career on a solid foundation. This blog will help you understand where to focus your efforts initially and what can be addressed later.

KW Command: KW Command is the hub of your entire real estate business. It serves as your database, pipeline management system, marketing assistant, and even your commission. It's essential to fully immerse yourself in this platform and become familiar with all its features. Check out the Marty Miller 66-Day Command Challenge on YouTube. These short videos (5-10 minutes each) cover different components of Command, helping you master it effectively.
Multiple Listing Service (MLS): The MLS is a vital tool for publishing homes to sell, finding properties for your buyers, and creating Comparative Market Analyses (CMAs). You'll be using this system almost daily, so it deserves your full attention. Check the Feature Cards on the portal for a video library from the Beaches MLS, specifically for Matrix, to gain a better understanding of its features.
Contracts: It's critical to have a strong understanding of the most common contracts used in real estate. While you don't need to memorize every line, you should grasp the essence of each paragraph, and be able to explain them to your clients. Focus on learning the following contracts: As Is Residential Contract for Sale and Purchase, Exclusive Right of Sale Listing Agreement, Exclusive Buyers Brokerage Agreement, and the Contract to Lease.
Conversations & Dialogues: Learning and practicing scripts is essential. Knowing exactly what to say to your clients will set you apart from the competition. Start by learning the scripts and then make them your own once you've internalized them. Practice them repeatedly until they become second nature to you.
Once you have mastered these key areas, you can move on to learning about everything else. The real estate industry offers a wealth of information and lessons, but knowing which classes to take and when is crucial to your success.
